A year ago, Stephen and I decided to move to Spain to escape the conventional "American dream." The dream where you work 40+ hour weeks to maintain a white picket fence, while desperately looking forward to the only two-weeks a year given to you to explore the world. We were seeking a minimal but meaningful lifestyle. We believed Spain was the perfect destination to find this. We knew there would be some cultural barriers, but we were eager to embrace it all.
For most of us, money is tight these days which means that travel is often put on the backburner. It’s easy to say things like “I’ll do it next year” or “maybe another time.” However, after visiting Machu Picchu this summer, here are my reasons as to why you should visit Machu Picchu.
